Not getting enough Respect at Work?  Do you know someone who is fearful of going to work?

Judith McLean and David Young, CEO, Sources, June 17, 2014

Monthly sessions of the 3 part series, Respectful Workplaces workshop will be offered every other month, starting June 24, 2014, with 15% of the profits dedicated to White Rock and Surrey-based SOURCES Community Resource Services. Here is David Young, CEO of SOURCES accepting Hi Q Training’s first cheque.

WHY does Judith McLean teach this course? Here is her story:  My father and mother were both bullied by their adoptive and natural parents. My mother’s shame from being raped by a ‘trusted’ friend kept her quiet and passive throughout most of her adult life. As a teen, I saw my mother exploited by numerous employers. No one stood up for her. In my 20’s I experienced harassment in a crown corporation; in my 30’s I witnessed students being bullied by professors; in my 40’s I saw clients suffer at the mercy of incompetent and unkind colleagues. Currently, I hear story after story of multi-talented, committed, and creative workers leaving their jobs to protect their sanity. One told me she was too exhausted and oppressed to complete her claim for disability.  Another still feared retaliation from her aggressive supervisor.

In May 2014 Judith launched the first of her workshop series RESPECTFUL WORKPLACES for 9. They had stories to share about how to improve respectful behaviour at work for crown corporations, non-profits, wellness centres, project managers, restaurants, banks, elementary, secondary schools and colleges.   The venue was provided by The Royale Peninsula in South Surrey.  They have kindly re-offered their Activity Room for the late afternoon 3 part series, starting June 24, 2014 and again in August, and October 2014.    To enroll in Hi Q Training’s course, Respectful Workplaces or to plan an event for your business, text Judith McLean at 604 313 9955, or email her at  info@nullhiqtraining.ca.
