Team building and improving team performance are the most often spoken about challenges in all types and size of business.
You won’t be surprised to know that if you have one negative or non-performing person in a team, it will take five positive people to overcome their energy. And it doesn’t have to be that way.
We don’t actually have to like the people we work with; liking comes second. If we are willing to take time to understand our fellow team members’ strengths and talents first, an amazing thing happens – we get over not ‘liking’ them; start to respect their talents and strengths, and then we start to like them.
Teams can be an endless source of complaining, back-stabbing and blame or they can be the most amazing sources of energy, ideas, motivation and passion. Team building is the key to creating positive, self-managing teams.
